The Writing on the Wall – Daniel 5

We are going to continue in our series this Sunday, Standing Upright in an Upside Down World.  This week we are going to see the writing on the wall…. literally.  God’s prophecy set forth over 150 years earlier by Isaiah is about to come to fruition.  God will no longer put up with pride, greed, self-promotion, idolatry, and defaming His Name.

With His finger, God writes on the wall a message to the King of Babylon.  The King has “been measured and found wanting.”  Daniel stands in the middle of a historic shift in power between the Persians and the Babylonians, yet he stands firm.  We need this type of resolve.  How can we stand upright when our world seems unhinged?
