Here in Minnesota, we have long seasons of darkness because of short winter days. Darkness has a profound effect on people who live in it. They may leave for work when it is still dark and come home when it is still dark. By the time the days grow longer, we are relieved to have long sunny days for summer. Christmas is filled with lights and color. As we continue our Christmas series The Light, we are going to compare living life in darkness rather than living a life in The Light.
The Bible says that Jesus is the light of the world. Later, Jesus also tells his followers that they are the light of the world. How can this be? With the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, how can we be light in this dark world?
