God’s love for mankind is beyond measure. John 3:16 says, “For God so love the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” How big and extravagant must the love of God be to give his Son, Jesus, so that we may have eternal life with him? You would think that the love of God is indisputable, yet there is a common question many people ask about God.
If God loves us so much, why does he send people to hell? This is a fair question that can lead to several conclusions. Maybe God doesn’t really love the world. Maybe we are mistaken and there isn’t a hell. Maybe hell is just an analogy. Surely a loving God would not send people to hell. The passages that follow John 3:16 give an answer to these questions and more.
