SERMONS

Don’t Be Easy Pickings

August 30, 2020

This week we are starting a short series on what it looks like for us to be Prepared.  If you look at the trajectory of our culture and society it’s clear that the months and potentially years in front of us will likely be filled with significant events.  Are you ready?  Are you prepared to live out your faith in a season of uncertainty and unrest?  How can we be disciples of Jesus Christ through this time?  How can we love God and love our neighbors well through this time?  How can we guard the bond of unity and peace we have with one another?  How can we resist the Enemy who is seeking to devour us?  The Word of God has answers to all these questions.

We are not afraid but hopeful in the incredible promises in Scripture.  However, we must prepare ourselves.  1 Thessalonians 5:6 encourages the church in this way.  “So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.”  This is game time and when it’s game time we must be alert and ready to shine like stars in the darkness.  Join us with an open heart to hear from the Word and the Holy Spirit.  It’s time to get Prepared.

Audio will open in a new window.
