Standing in the shadow of idols, Paul is going to have to defend and give an answer for the early Christian faith.  Can you imagine looking around and seeing an entire city led astray by worthless beliefs in false gods?  Men and women would give their time and resources to these false gods.  Sadly, children were raised to put their hope and dreams in front of stone depictions of amplified men and women.  All of it is worthless.  Paul is distressed and defends the Christian faith.

What about us?  When we look around, do we see the same blind devotion to false gods and pursuits that will not lead to true peace?  Does our heart break for those who are broken?
