Rooted 412

As parents, we are doing more than just raising kids.  We are making disciples who are themselves called to make disciples.  Because of this, we (Parents and the Church) must provide our students with the necessary tools to not only survive but to thrive in this calling.  We must “train them up in the way they should go”, equip them with the armor of God, fortify them in the Truth, and then release them to impact the world.  This is what ROOTED 412 is all about.

ROOTED 412 is not youth group, but rather a separate and extended time of intentional training designed to help teens establish their faith rooted in a deeper knowledge of God’s Word.  This training is a great resource to help teens grow their personal convictions and faith through a comprehensive Biblical Studies curriculum.  In ROOTED 412 students will be immersed in a variety of subjects including:

OTH and NTH: We explore more than just the Sunday School stories, but the overarching narrative that runs throughout the Bible.  We look at the major themes and see how each book of the Bible comes together as one unified story of God’s redemption.

Acts and Church History: We will discover how the baton of faith has been passed down from the 12 disciples 2000 years ago and has arrived at us today with the hope that each student will see themselves as part of the Gospel mission and own the missional calling on their lives.

Romans and Systematic Theology: Through this study, we will dig deeper into the sore and essential theologies of the Christian faith.  Some of the major topics will include: The Character and Attributes of God, The Trinity, Justification, Atonement, Sanctification, The Nature of Man, and the Deity of Christ.

Apologetics: It not enough to believe!  One’s faith is only as real as the object the faith is placed in.  We must know “Why we believe what we believe”!  In this class, students are equipped to justifiably prove the Bible as a valid source for truth and are grounded and guarded in truth.

Ethics: What is truth?  Can truth be known?  How are we to live in an age of relativity and everyone doing what is right or wise in their own eyes?  Why is truth important?  In this segment of Rooted teens are challenged to expand from “knowing what you believe” to how our faith is to impact our everyday lives and the major ethical issues of our day.  Some of the controversial issues we will examine through the lens of Scripture include: Abortion, Euthanasia, Sexual ethics, and more.
